Apply
All applications, application fee, and supporting materials for the 2024/2025 school year are due by January 11, 2024 for priority consideration. Every family is welcome to apply, and should contact us if the application fee presents a hardship for your family.
Our application process is hosted on Ravenna. Please click the button below to be redirected to the Ravenna Hub site. You will be asked to create an account to submit materials to Brightworks and track the completed steps in the application process.
Student Insight
As part of the incoming high school application, we will ask students to submit photos and/or videos that shows their area of passion, an out-of-school project they’ve worked on that is particularly meaningful or telling of their interests, or a written statement telling us about themselves.
We also ask that prospective high school students consider the question: How will you be a participant in your own education during your high school career?
We will email all applicant families with further instructions about how and what to submit to us after the January application deadline.
Recommendation Forms
It’s important for us to hear from your student’s humanities (English or social studies) and STEM (math or science) teachers about their life in the classroom so that we can determine whether Brightworks’ educational approach is a good fit for your student. We also like to hear from your student’s current principal or school counselor. Please visit Ravenna to submit those forms to your student’s teacher.
If you are unable to access Ravenna, hard copies of the forms can be found below. Please ask that your student’s teachers mail hard copies to 682 Schofield Road, San Francisco, CA 94129 or email filled forms to admissions@sfbrightworks.org.
Tuition Assistance
Brightworks uses the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS), a third party program that helps us assess each family’s ability to pay for school tuition. The number to submit documents to Brightworks is 9218.
Questions and additional information can be directed to tuition@sfbrightworks.org. Applications for tuition assistance are due through the SSS website by January 11, 2024 for consideration.

Processing Fee and Final Steps
In Ravenna, you will be asked to submit a processing fee for your application. Families should contact us if the application fee presents a hardship.
All applications, supplemental materials, and the processing fee must be submitted before we schedule an in-person conversation and visit for you and your family.
