Summer Day Camp

We are excited to offer ten weeks of day-camp at Brightworks this summer. Based on the style of learning we are creating at Brightworks, each week of our summer camp is a unique experience in the context of a broad theme. Each of our camp weeks is designed and run by one of our Brightworks collaborators, and is guaranteed to be just as surprising, engaging, and unpredictable as our regular school program.

Themes of Summer 2012

We will explore three broad themes this summer:

• By Hand
  Our hands are amazing - let's use them! Drawing on the arts and crafts traditions, these weeks of camp will focus on making things by hand.
• Nature
  Let's get outside and stick our noses in every flower we can find, identify every bird we see, and learn new ways of looking at, interacting with, and understanding the natural world and our place in it.
• Construction
  Sometimes we just need to build something exciting and fun - these camp weeks will focus on use of tools and materials to make things we can drive, sail, climb, swing on, and marvel at.

Every session will of course contain elements of the other sessions, and participants will enjoy time outdoors every day.

Logistics

We are accepting children ranging in age from 5 to 14 in each session. Our low student to teacher ratio ensures that everyone experiences a personalized, developmentally appropriate, and suitably challenging session.

Sessions are limited to 16 participants and are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Those unable to be placed in a certain week of camp will be placed in our wait pool or directed to other weeks of camp. Please email us to be placed on the waitlist if your preferred week of camp is full.

Hours

Day Camp is Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pm.
Before care starts at 8:30am ($30 per week).
Aftercare is provided until 5:30pm ($60 per week).
Daily before and after care is provided at $10/hour.

Fees

Sessions are $400 per child. Sign up for two or more sessions and receive a $50 discount on each session. Sign up and pay before April 1st, and receive an additional $25 off your total fee. Should you need to cancel, there is a 50% refund before May 1st and 0% after May 1st, as we will have confirmed staffing needs by then.
