mostly outside
The school went mostly outside today. The Undead Goats headed to Mills Canyon Park in Burlingame for a day of hiking and climbing and getting a view of the city from the outside. The Ninja Cats was the only band that stayed at the school. They talked about how paper only flies if it has a point and some wings. They decided that the wings help a plane fly and help the point cut through the layers of air.Folding and folding the most flight-worthy paper airplanes.Nicky's origami skills were well used in creating sharp airplanes.Flying paper airplanes.Paper-y collisions.Theo created a storyline called Giant Microbes. Each Ninja Cat was a different cell or germ, like Little Red Blood Cell, Bad Breath, Big Red Blood Cell, White Blood Cell, Flu, and Black Death. Black Death and Flu were the villains, and White Blood Cell fought them while the others ran away in fear!Plotting. The Flying Fish made their weekly excursion to Huddart Park in Woodside. They crossed bridges, made face paint, and got massages. They saw six deer (or three deer twice) and two coyotes (or one coyote twice). These sightings led to a bigger effort to walk quietly and slowly using all senses to spot wildlife. They made cordage out of Douglas Iris.A winter without rain has outside benefits. And thank you, Audrey, for helping me with the blog tonight during aftercare!
