A photographer from San Francisco Magazine was in today photographing the kids for an upcoming article, and since hot lunch is such a community event, we were able to take advantage of hot lunch hospitality to display our culinary community for magazine readers. (Check for the article in the March issue!)The Ninja Cats discussed in detail a section of The Wee Free Men - a few pages of the novel that deal with tough ethical dilemmas and interpersonal relationships. Chane recognized the complexity of the story and encouraged the Cats to think deeply about the ideas. They used the microbes to act out the characters' parts in the story to further their understanding.Audrey and Quinn are helping Theo write a play based on the motion of microbes.Hanging out in Kid City.The Flying Fish worked on their reading in the afternoon, enjoying the time so much that they groaned in protest when Mackenzie told them that the end of the day was upon them.Kaia began building her drawing skills for her declaration project: a study done in drawing on the way horses move.Intense work on declarations.
