Aftercare at Brightworks

We are delighted to share with you some of the provocative projects and playfulness that we’ve enjoyed during Aftercare so far this year. The Presidio has so much to offer, and we are thrilled every afternoon to enjoy the stunning view of the Bay from our back porch.

In the art studio, you can find us screen printing and designing jerseys, discovering joy in a retro rock tumbler and exquisitely wire-wrapping polished pendants, and endlessly crafting multi-media sculptures and dioramas.

Our backyard has been a catalyst for all sorts of prancing and dancing–from the careful composition and enactment of dress-up princesses or fantastical LARP characters, to twisting and turning on the gymnastic bars, to even constructing our own adventure playground from stumps and shop materials.

We’ve even become pizzaiolos in the making, slinging handmade pizzas into Daniel’s portable cranked up to 900 degrees. Every day we get to dive into new interests and adventures together.

This is a special time for students to utilize the space and tools at school to deep dive into their interests.

Don’t be discouraged if you haven’t gotten to experience Aftercare yet – we are always thrilled when new participants join our afternoon adventures!
