Celebrating & Practicing Wellness

Many of us have been diving into Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation and thinking about supporting our children’s wellbeing. These conversations are a reminder that in an increasingly fast-paced and digital world, intentionality is our best tool.

Wellness + You = Magic
Throughout the week of February 9, our incredible wellness team—Steven, Bethany, and Kory—designed a week of intentional experiences to help our students build their own "fortitude toolkits" in our very first Wellness Week.

Our theme, “Wellness + You = Magic,” centered on the idea that wellness isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. It’s a personal discovery. We believe that when students are given the space to slow down, connect, create, and reflect, something powerful—and perhaps a bit magical—happens.

Throughout the week, the gathering space and band spaces served as hubs of wellbeing.

Students explored:

  • Mindfulness & Movement: Finding stillness and strength in their bodies.

  • Appreciation Writing: Practicing the "muscle" of gratitude.

  • Connection & Play: Through a school-wide scavenger hunt and a Community Friday filled with wellness-themed sessions.

  • The Power of Presence: A cozy reading hour and, of course, time with "therapy" dogs (because we all know that all dogs are therapy!).

Our goal was simple: to create a clearing where students could notice what helps them feel grounded, connected, and more like themselves. By giving them these tools now, we are helping them build the internal tools they’ll need for the "next moment," whatever it holds.

Supporting student mental health takes the whole village: families, educators, and community groups alike. We are so grateful to partner with you in supporting the holistic wellbeing of every child in our community.
