Fall Distance Learning Plan
Hello Brightworks Community,
Though we had hoped to start this fall in person, we are delighted to share our revised Distance Learning Plan. Please join us tonight at 4:30 for a Town Hall about this plan. A recording of the Town Hall will be available tomorrow.
There is a certain magic to being in the same physical space as the people you are working with. To recreate that feeling of community, collaboration and purpose at a distance, students, collaborators and families will need to continue to partner together. This plan gives the broad strokes of what Distance Learning will look like this year. Your collaborator will be sharing the finer details, such as weekly schedules and preferred platforms in the coming week and a half.
In the spirit of being on the same page as we prepare for this community endeavor, the revised distance learning plan has been written for students, collaborators and family members alike. It outlines the goals of distance learning, what we learned last spring, how our program has been adapted to accommodate distance learning and includes guidelines and expectations for collaborators, students and family members. We also explain the logistics of distance learning including teaching tools, schedule frameworks, and transition timelines.
This plan wouldn’t be possible without the wisdom of innovative educators from around the world as well as the incredible work of our Brightworks collaborators in the spring and the preparation they have done for this coming year.  Special thanks to Melissa, Phillip and Justine who co-authored this plan.
See you tonight,
Mackenzie and the Leadership Team
