The BIPoC Student Affinity group visits the Angela Davis exhibit

Oakland Museum Field Trip

Hosted and led by the Power & Privilege Committee the BIPoC student affinity group is a bi-weekly safe-space where student voices are affirmed, validated and celebrated.

As a means to continue unpacking and learning the importance of amplifying voice and Social Justice, students were invited to visit the Angela Davis Exhibit at the Oakland Museum.

The exhibit highlighted Angela Davis’s activism through visuals, reportings and personal artifacts. Students were encouraged to engage with the various stations and provided information. The experience was rich with history and students resonated with the various offerings.

Coupled with the experience, students were invited to the FabLab at Laney College, where we learned about the different opportunities and workings of this unique and one of a kind fabrication lab.

The Power & Privilege committee looks forward to continuing providing our BIPoC student community with meaningful and informative experiences. To learn more about these efforts, or to support, please contact: sergio@sfbrightworks.org
