Curious? Have questions?
You’ve come to the right place
Why Brightworks?
With choice and the ability to meaningfully contribute to the big questions, Brightworks prepares students for the future by creating a learning environment where they know who they are, how they learn, and how they can advocate for their own and others’ needs.
The Brightworks approach to project-based learning puts student agency and care at the center of the work. Within a vibrant and supportive community of learners, families, and staff, students find wonder and delight in the exploration of any topic, practice working together to turn ideas into reality, and learn how to communicate what they have done and why.
Through projects, learning together, and knowing themselves, Brightworks fosters students’ lifelong curiosity and helps them develop the tools they need to pursue passion and meaningful questions far beyond the walls of the classroom.
What’s the big deal with projects?
Project-based learning starts with an idea and ends with a project, but there are dozens of steps in between. Learn more about our approach to project-based learning and how the Arc framework helps students learn, do, and share.
What does a school with kindergarteners and high schoolers even look like?
A small community gives students an authentic view into the mixed-age world beyond school. Still, a K-12 school has to intentionally think about and support the needs of everyone from young children entering school for the first time to teenagers thinking about their next steps after graduation. Click through the photos below for more details on how we approach projects, social-emotional learning, and student experience as they grow from kindergarten to high school.
